I made this after a morning of commemorating my dad's 100th birthday with my siblings. Last year, we started talking about doing something special this year to honor him on his birth anniversary. My sisters and brother met at the cemetery as we do for birthdays and other occasions. First, we went to Dad's parents' and other relative's graves; then, we went to the gravesite where he and my mom are buried. After we paid our respects, we drove 17 miles to the house where he was born in 1920. Because this is the era of Covid-19, my siblings and I each drove in our separate cars. We wore face masks when we were together, practicing social distancing.

I intended to light a candle for him, but I wanted to give him a gift. My other siblings brought flowers, and I forgot to pick up my customary pinwheel.

This morning, the first line of e.e. cummings' poem kept running through my mind as I was getting ready to go. When I got home, I made this graphic. Happy 100th Birthday, Dad!...
