Description
I created this in an attempt to use paint as a sculptural form. I wasn't satisfied so I put it aside. Three years later I put the words on the bottom. Immediately after I wrote them, I heard a story about Ernest Hemingway on NPR so I titled it "The Sun Also Rises". To me, it is a deeply personal piece, highlighting my lifelong struggle with depression.
